James Corden

We can learn a lot about a person if we know what types of things he or she talks about or comments on the most frequently. There are numerous topics with which James Corden is associated, including London, Stephen Sondheim, and song. Most recently, James Corden has been quoted saying: “This is only a waste of time if you don't enjoy it. That enjoyment, that joy, that sort of unbridled freedom of singing in a car, is the glue that holds it all together. I'd rather do it here than in London. That's much harder.” in the article Legend, Keys among 'Carpool Karaoke' spin-off stars. An other article where James Corden has been quoted is Awards-season campaigning underway at Hollywood Film Awards.

There are a lot of brilliant singers there, and no one needs to hear me disrupt such beautiful vocals. My show is basically on in the middle of the night where people only really catch it if they wake up and happen to realize they've left the television on. This is very different. This is the Grammy Awards, and there are quite a few more people watching it. So, you know, we're really going to try our best to not ruin the whole thing. The greatest thing about Stephen Sondheim – in all of his work but particularly in this piece, I think, is that there are no songs for songs' sake. There is never a moment where you feel like it, as a piece and a story, has stopped still and gone, And song!, And carry on!' – which I think lots of musicals can be guilty of. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, if you love musicals. And I do and I enjoy that, but the greatest thing about this is that the songs often very naturally just stem from the dialogue and they're all driving the plot and the story forward.
