Tony Romo quotes

May 04 2017

That's when I sat in bed and I just prayed to the Lord, and this was a very defining moment for me. I was like: 'If I'm not meant to be the quarterback here or play quarterback in the NFL, that's fine. Then I'm going to go back and be a really good assistant golf club professional back in Burlington, Wisconsin.feedback

Apr 12 2017 - NBA

I feel like they're all 7 feet tall. And they'll all long and lean. I look like a turtle out there next to these guys.feedback

Apr 12 2017

This is an honor that I could never dream of. It's a little embarrassing, but I'll tell you what, I'm a very lucky guy. Thank you, Dallas. I love you.feedback

Apr 11 2017

At first I was just feeling like I didn't deserve any of that. No one does, but at the same time just the honor that the organization and coach and Mark and Dirk to just do something like that, it just makes you feel special. Standing here today, I feel a little embarrassed, to be on honest, in the sense that you're lucky enough to be in a position that someone cares enough to do something to honor you. I'm a lucky guy. I'm pretty sure I cannot go and play 10 or 15 minutes. Pretty sure if I did I'd probably wake up tomorrow feeling a little sore. We don't like that at my age.feedback

Apr 11 2017

And so this week has been special in the sense that people have made me feel that they appreciated me, that they enjoyed me playing and being the quarterback and that it meant something to them and they wanted to root for me and they were passion about it. I can't say thank you enough. It really has been a very special week.feedback

Apr 11 2017

I think I'm going to get more street cred being on the bench for the Mavs than actually playing for the Cowboys with those guys.feedback

Apr 11 2017

It's been overwhelming. I had close to 600 text messages that I'm still working on and then a hundred and something calls and a bunch of other stuff. I guess it just makes you feel like you've accomplished something in some ways even though I feel like I left something out there that I always wanted to accomplish. And I've got to live with that. That's part of playing sports. It doesn't always go the way you expect. You can put everything into it and sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't mean you can be OK with it.feedback

Apr 10 2017

I would love to pretend that I'm the GM for the Houston Texans. But since I'm not, I'm gonna let you ask him that question.feedback

Apr 08 2017

I started playing basketball when I was really young, and I just had a passion. If you gave me a ball, I would go shovel a spot in the driveway, I'd be out there for three hours in the winter. … All the way up until late in my high school career I thought I was going to play basketball in college.feedback

Apr 05 2017

It was a very difficult decision. I went back and forth many times. There were many reasons basically that I felt this was the right decision. It really had nothing to do with the Texans. It had everything to do with CBS…. I really felt as though it was the right decision at this time. I'm really excited about the new challenge ahead. I didn't come to this conclusion lightly.feedback

Apr 05 2017

If this wasn't something that I was excited about or I didn't think that I really wanted to do, I wouldn't be making this decision. This is a decision that I've come to because I'm excited about this craft. I'm excited about trying to be really good at this. I understand the challenges ahead. I also understand that it can be pretty fun trying to attack something and do something at a high level.feedback

Apr 05 2017

I don't know that the competitive fire ever is gonna go away. For athletes, that's gonna be there. And that's probably something that Troy Aikman, Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms still fight to this day. I think we all understand there's a shelf life. But as we learned with Brett Favre, that shelf life can obviously take on a life of its own. I was just trying to make the best decision possible for me and my family. Obviously Houston was at the top of the list of teams that I looked at.feedback

Apr 04 2017

I'm a Dallas Cowboy. I understand that. I really like to think that some guys have done it exactly right. Others probably wish they could do things a little bit different. There's a handful of guys that just get lucky and everything works out perfectly.feedback

Apr 04 2017

It wasn't a simple decision. It got easier when I started to really get excited about working with CBS. That part of it got the juices flowing and started to get you excited to be a part of a team and go attack a craft.feedback

Apr 04 2017

It reminds me of my rookie year where you really don't know anything. You're walking into a brand new situation and you can kinda play the game. I can kinda talk. But this is a completely different world. I like that challenge. I could play tomorrow. I'm making this decision with the choice to be able to play as well. Do I envision coming back and playing football? Absolutely not. I'm committed to CBS for good. Do I think I'm going to get some calls? I'm sure I will. I've known my nature and I've known my competitive side.feedback

Apr 04 2017

If this is the worst thing that will ever happen to me, then I've lived a pretty good life.feedback

Mar 30 2017

If you think for a second that I don't want to be out there, then you've probably never felt the pure ecstasy of competing and winning.feedback

Mar 09 2017

We have a lot to think about here going forward, but we'll see what happens. Till then, I'm just going to keep listening to Bob Dylan.feedback

Mar 09 2017

Hey everyone. I just wanted to come and tell you it's been a crazy 48 hours here. Me and my family have felt the outpouring of support and love from all of you. It's been overwhelming, and it doesn't go unnoticed, so I want to say thank you.feedback

If you're going to play, might as well be aggressive with the reads.feedback

Jan 01 2017

It's enjoyable to have a little success, but I kind of do that at practice each day. Ultimately, you are going to be defined by what you do on Sunday, but in my experience, if you're not doing it throughout the week, Sunday is going to be difficult.feedback

Nov 23 2016

I think Dak knows that I have his back, and I think I know that he has mine. Ultimately, it's about the team.feedback

I was going into a slide.feedback
